Gamboa Rainforest

The day before school started, ISP spoiled us once again with a trip to the Gamboa Rainforest! The park is about a 30-40 minute drive from the city. There is amazing green space within city limits, but I am amazed at the National Parks and rainforests that are close by. We were treated to a boat and canopy tour, amazing buffet lunch, and a walk in a botanical garden. Both our tour guides were very knowledgeable. Our canopy tour guide spotted tons of monkeys and a sloth for us to see. I learned a lot about the different trees and plants as well. My favorite moment on the boat tour was after we went under a bridge and the guide welcomed us to the Panama Canal! It was such a surprise to me that we were traveling on the canal. We zipped along the canal passing a huge ship to get to inlets to see wildlife. It was a great last day of summer vacation!
